Luminous User Guide 

A microdermabrasion device designed to elevate and enhance your at-home skincare regime.

Battery & Charging 

It is important to charge your device regularly to maintain battery life. We recommend charging your device after every use for optimal life span. To charge, plug your charging cable into a USB wall adapter, or power accessory. When the light is red, it's charging. And when it's green, it's ready to go. Charging time: 2–3 hours.

Cleaning

Clean your device after every use. It’s a good idea to clean it beforehand too. Remove the micro-crystal head or suction probe. Using the cleaning brush, gently brush in and around the probe and filter then wipe clean with a cloth dampened with water or any silicone-friendly cleaner. Avoid alcohol, petroleum-based solvent, acetone, or ketone cleaners. Massage oils, skin care products, and moisturisers can also compromise the material.  

Water Contact 

While using a fine, damp cloth to clean your device is fine, avoid getting it wet. The Luminous should not be fully submerged. Avoid water or liquid being sucked into the air pump as this can affect the performance of the device. 

Care 

Ensure the device is completely dry. Store in your AMEMO pouch. Keep away from extreme cold or heat

Replacing Filters 

If cared for correctly, each filter should last 2-3 months. It’s important to replace the filter when required to ensure effective suction transfer between the device and the skin surface. To replace a filter, remove the micro-crystal head or probe from the head of the device. Using a pair of tweezers, carefully peel off the old filter and discard it. Clean any remaining residue, ensuring the area is completely dry before attaching the new filter. To attach the new filter, remove the filter from the sheet. Using a pair of tweezers, carefully place the filter in the correct position. When satisfied, apply gentle pressure to bond the filter in place.

How to use

Step 1: Charge the microdermabrasion device until the light at the base of the device turns green. We recommend plugging directly into a wall outlet with a USB adapter (versus plugging into a device's USB port, like a computer). It takes 2-3 hours for the device to fully charge. 

The device runs on a rechargeable battery, so there will be battery drainage over time. We recommend charging your device after every use for optimal life span. If the battery is constantly drained completely, the device will no longer work and cannot be charged. 

Run time: 80 minutes (depending on speed)

Step 2: Cleanse skin thoroughly and pat dry. If using the micro-crystal, we recommend applying any further product, post-microdermabrasion treatment.  

Step 3: Choose the applicable micro-crystal head or suction probe and insert it onto the head of the device. 

Step 4: Turn on the device by pressing and holding down the power button that is located on the front of the device. Do this for a few seconds until the device is activated and the first light appears. This is Level 1. There are 3 powerful suction levels to choose from. Start with level 1 and only progress to the next level if you feel it is absolutely necessary. Turning the suction up too high can cause red marks to appear on the surface of the skin, which can take several days to disappear. If this occurs, limit the usage of products and skin care on the area and cease treatment until the marks fully disappear.  

Step 5: 

Pull and hold the skin taut in the area you wish to treat, this will help reduce discomfort and surface marking. Place the head of the device on the area of the face you wish to treat first (we suggest starting with your forehead). Make a swift sweeping motion outwards towards the parameter of the face. Repeat; limiting each area to 1-2 passes. 

Make sure the head of the device is flat to the face to ensure effective use. Do not hold the device in any one area for longer than 2-3 seconds as this may cause excessive marking on the surface of the skin.

If you deem it necessary, you may wish to increase the suction power on areas of the skin that are less sensitive or delicate. To do so, gently press the power button and watch as the light of the next level appears indicating the increase in suction levels. 

Once you have completed your treatment, apply your favourite skin care products to further enhance results. Please refer to individual skin-care product packaging or regime for correct usage and recommendations.

To turn off the device, hold the power button for 3 seconds.  

Frequency of Use

How often should I use the Luminous?  

The suction probe can be used daily and is designed to increase blood circulation, encourage lymphatic drainage and stimulate natural collagen production. 

You can use the micro-crystal regular exfoliation once a week. However, if you are using it in conjunction with a salon strength peel (such as AHA or BHA) or advanced cosmeceutical regime then limiting use to monthly/fortnightly is recommended.
